MRI and PGT

TWENTY FOUR

It's been a while since I have had any updates/changes to document, and as we all know, that is a good sign!

I had my MRI on January 25th, and as per usual I called my family doctor for results every single day after, until I had results. I told myself I wouldn't do that, but I just can't help myself. I had called on the 31st in the morning to check in once again and was told that they had received the results and that my doctor would call back before the end of the day with results (with a slight undertone of, DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN). So as my work day was finishing up and the bell had rang at 3:10 I hoped that I would have news to take home with me. The phone rang at 3:30 and I had news that my scan was clean/good and there was "no evidence of disease regrowth". Those words will forever be music to my ears. I instantly texted my go to people and within two hours my whole family was out to dinner to celebrate! You have to love those people that will drop any plans and support/celebrate with you!

Then March came around, and it was time to deal with the Pituitary gland tumour. I went for my repeat bloodwork and although my hormone results were "slightly elevated", my endocrinologist called to say he was not worried, and that it was considered "stable". I asked about what the plan was going forward, and he said I didn't even need to repeat the bloodwork unless I was experiencing symptoms (WAHOOOO). Me being me, I will likely see if I can repeat it in another year just to be proactive and keep an eye on it!

As far as London goes, I still haven't heard from them about my January scan, but I have seen the paper copy of the MRI and that is enough for me. I have yet to hear about when my next scan will be, but I am hoping for July which will take me to the 2 year mark!

On that note, in June, my family and I will be walking in the 2023 Brain Tumour Walk. This walk obviously hits close to home, but I am also walking for a couple of my friends who have also been diagnosed with a brain tumour. If you would like to donate, you can visit my page here.

With every dollar, you make it possible for people affected by a brain tumour to live with hope. You make it possible for critical research to advance, trusted education to spread, and compassionate support to continue. You make it possible to take steps towards a cure.

Join me, and together, we will #EndBrainTumours.

THANK YOU!
